I read somewhere years ago that Tuesday was the worst day of the week psychologically. (Monday was the start of a new week. Wednesday was half-way through. Thursday was almost Friday. Etc. But Tuesday wasn’t the start of anything and you still had a whole bunch of days until the weekend.
So, with that in mind, when I was a college I used to load up all the stuff I didn’t want to do on Tuesdays — my heaviest class schedule, laundry, my P.O.W. assignment. I figured I might as well get all the misery out of the way at once. It seemed to work.
