Let’s Review

January has come to its glorious end. 31 days of gray skies and no snow. Yip yip yahoo. So, lest I melt into a pile of midwinter gloom, let’s review what I’ve accomplished so far this year (Mind you – I do this only because for the majority of my day I chase three kids around and get nothing of any significance done. It is for my own sanity that I keep lists.)

Exercism:  I walked 40 miles on the treadmill in January and worked out with my favorite TV exercise buddy, Kathy Kaehler a few times. 40 miles walked from my house would get me within about 6 miles of Wrigley Field. I should be there by the time the Pitchers and Catchers Report. (Oh, wrong state.)

Books Recommended: Jim and Roger both recommended some books to me on the original blog.  My favorite this month was 8 Men and a Duck.

Pro Sports: As recently noted, I accomplished part of my pro sports attendance goal, by attending a Blackhawks game.

Another Goal I Made Up: For the month of January, I decided to avoid french fries. And I did pretty well – only snagging one or two from the kid’s meals a couple times. So, today I ordered a regular order of fries from Portillo’s as a last day celebration. Portillo’s fries are the only ones I really crave and Mmmmmmmmmm… so delish.

Stay tuned for a review of Quadrophenia, recommended by Craig on the music list.

Oh, and, no, I didn’t throw up anywhere this month. Amazing.

  1. It’s not too late. You’ve still got two and a half hours to hurl. Go for it.
