Checked Off The List
Today was a trip to Chicago and here’s some things we checked off the list of things to do in Chicagoland:
1 b. On the Michigan Avenue Bridge by the Wrigley Building. 5/26/07; alright, so this is just my foot and my daughter’s leg, but the people behind us were pushing us ahead and there was no time for an official picture today! But this is my proof I was there:
Cute shoes
View of Chicago River from Michigan Ave Bridge
c. Reflected in the Bean at Millennium Park.
d. By the Picasso Statue in the Daley Center Plaza

Okay – so I obviously didn’t take this picture… where’s the Picasso? Below you can see what it really looks like. Just to the right of the photo above (with us) there was a military guard standing there – and to the left was a Memorial Day Service going on.

3 a. Frango Mints at Macy’s (Marshall Fields)
here’s us with the friendly Frango lady who gave us each a free sample (but we still bought for later!)

5. Look at all the embedded pieces of famous buildings in the Tribune Tower. I’ve done this before, and we did it today again… but no photos to prove!
11. Tour the Art Institute of Chicago and see American Gothic, by Grant Wood (and get your photo taken by the lions on the front steps) – Okay, the Art Institute is on my list of summer things to do, but we stopped for the lions…

A visit to a favorite Chicago eating spot: The Grand Luxe Cafe and a stop at the American Girl Doll Store topped off a very fun day in Chicago. (And for the budget conscious: we were able to buy weekend tickets for the adults for $5 each, kids ride for free on the train on weekends. And we used a free trolley that runs in the summer to get from the American Girl Doll Store to the train station. All in all, I spent $6 for a full day’s transportation!)
