Me in Place

Today’s wrapup:

1. We got a special box in the mail from Amazon.com and I said to Mr MIP, I’m going to ask SuperBoy if he recognizes this book (it being the book SuperBoy ordered all by himself).Mr MIP (a.k.a. Doubting Thomas) says, “He doesn’t know what he did.”

I say, “Oh yes he does.”

So I turn to SuperBoy and show him the book and say, “Recognize this?”

And SuperBoy says, “Yes, I clicked that book.” And he takes it in his hands and flips through the pages and says, “Huh, it’s just words.”

2. I also now own my very first cast iron skillet. I am so excited about this (how pathetic is it that it only takes a skillet to make me happy?) and made some buttermilk cornbread tonight. I wasn’t quite pleased with how it tasted, so if you have any good cornbread recipes, let me know. But it looked cool anyway:

3. Then, as if that wasn’t excitement enough in our house, I opened the door after dinner and found a dear blog reader standing there with, get this!, flowers and chocolates in her hand! You may recall the burn incident of a week or so ago ( you can be thankful I didn’t post the picture I took of that!). Friendly Blog Reader wanted me to know she read my blog and cared enough to bring flowers and chocolate (and a cute pen and paper to top it all off). How sweet! I send a big thank you out to her and really, let’s be honest, it’s nice to have some chocolate to eat while watching the premiere of this season’s The Biggest Loser tonight (Just kidding).
