Me in Place

1. Last Saturday I went with my dear Grandmother to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a group from South Africa whose music I have listened to since my college days. They first became well-known when they sang with Paul Simon on his album Graceland. You probably know their sound from the movie Lion King. Such beautiful music – it was a dream come true to hear them live! Here is the link to their site where you can hear clips from their latest cd.

2. This week has seen the Cubs struggle – but one never loses hope. Well, one tries not to lose hope. One thinks she is losing hope, but still finds herself pining after a win.

3. This weekend is my 5K!! I totally looked up last year’s results from the race I’m in to see what the times were. If I do okay, I’ll be average. Which is just fine with me!

4. All my kids have been breathing on me with their little kid sick germs, and now I am fighting my own battle with a cold. But never fear, Airborne is here! We just walked to Walgreens to get some more. I’m armed and ready.

5. The QOD (Question of the Day) was: Mom, what is a “maniac?”
