Me in Place

Remember my poll asking if I should try my luck at trying out for Wheel of Fortune? 45 of you voted Yes and 1 voted No (Who are you and why are you so negative?). So I went because I always listen and blame you, my dear poll takers.
The Wheelmobile was there in all its glory. I was there in all my glory. My mom was there in all her glory. And 2,000 other people were there… well, you get the picture. We were handed applications to fill out and a souvenir CD-ROM. The applications weren’t anything fancy, but did include a question about what unique qualities or hobbies you had. Note to self: develop a unique quality to make self more interesting.

We were seated in the auditorium and waited for about 45 minutes, then watched as they held short little practice games – five people were called up at a time and interviewed about where they worked and what they did for fun. You’d think that after watching 35 people answer this question, you’d be ready with your answer for what you do for fun, but most just kinda stood there, “Um, I don’t know.” The majority of the ones that did answer said, “I go drinking with the girls.”
Although we didn’t get called up for auditions tonight, there’s still a small, random chance we could still get called for final auditions in January. A Cubs fan never gives up hope, right?

It was an interesting event and I thank you, dear blog readers, for motivating me to go. It was not a waste of time. (Mainly because we just had to stop at The Cheesecake Factory on the way home as a non-celebration dinner.) Quick! What do you do for fun?
