SAS Decorating – Christmas Edition

It’s time for another installment of SAS (Short Attention Span) Decorating. My first installment was actually done for another blog (ooh, I’m multi-blogerol); you can read that post by clicking here.

Christmas Edition
Supplies Needed:

Small glass dish with at least an inch or so of depth
Small glass ornaments in a color you like
Pillar Candle; dig through your cupboards and see what you have left from Christmas ’86
Stopwatch

Ready? Set! Go!

You can throw this together in about one minute, that’s why it’s perfect for us SAS Decorators. But just because I said the word “minute,” doesn’t mean I want you to start the stopwatch yet. Just hold on, Tiger.

Grab your pretty glass dish (I bought mine from Target, because I always need excuses to go to Target. But you can use whatever you have. Family heirloom. Family not-so-heirloom. White Elephant gift you got last year. Whatev.)

Grab your leftover pillar candle. (Or, Target has great ones that they sell new. Really, it’s true!)

Stick the pillar candle into the glass dish.

Now, get that pretty package of teeny tiny ornaments you bought at Target and start placing in the dish:

Here’s where you pull out the stopwatch. And ready? Go… time how long it is until one of your kids comes and has to touch the ornaments… tick, tick, tick,

16.2 seconds!

There you have it, your beautiful SAS Christmas centerpiece. Here it is finished:

Here it is finished if SuperBoy is taking his nap:

  1. kute idea kelli! I love Christmas decorations and this one looks like I could change it around a little for other things. Gotta love that Target.

  2. Yep – it’s an all year decoration… at Thanksgiving, I bought fresh cranberries and put them in the dish around the candle. Very festive!
