Olympic Dreams: Dashed
Turns out I have an inflamed disc in my back. I’ve had four visits to a (wonderful) chiropractor this week, and have improved greatly over the pain I was experiencing Sunday and Monday. Monday I laid there, trying to gauge how much I was willing to pay to visit a doctor to alleviate the pain. When I decided I would pay $500 for pain relief, I knew it was time to go in. So, the good news is that the pain is going away. The bad news is: I said to Doc “Um, I am trying to become a runner and I was going to do a half-marathon in May. It probably won’t happen, huh?” Doc: “Um… No.”
I’m disappointed that you guys won’t be interviewed on camera for my sad biography that will air over shots of me in extreme pain as I run my marathon. And I had your scripts all written for you and everything. But, don’t fear, just because I can’t do the half in May, I still plan on doing the full in October. It’s a life goal and I don’t care what it takes to get it done, I will do a marathon.
(As soon as possible, I’ll be sure to update you on other happenings around the ranch. Just try to picture what one SuperBoy can do in one week of a mom who can’t move.)

And here I had my “I knew her when…” speech all ready! Glad to hear that you are at least getting better though! I imagine the things Superboy might have thought to do while mom was laid up – sorry but that does make me smile -just a little smile……..I said sorry………..:-)

LOL
I’m going to start doing research for you on how you get started in a career of comedy writing. You are sooooooo good!!!!! This post cracked me up!! The title alone was hilarious!! This was my favorite line: “When I decided I would pay $500 for pain relief, I knew it was time to go in.”
I just got done getting caught up at your Mom’s blog and read about them not wanting to give her SuperBoy at Church so thats how I first heard about your back
). No wonder the emails have been slow as of late
