LOL Hamster guy Jake is very cute and I have to say after reading the info about the ferret I think you made a wise choice. I about had a heart attack at the thought of all the things the ferret might do at my house, yikes!!

As for the memories of our hamster/gerbil days at my house growing they are many. First of all, you have Oreo the gerbil who got loose and was running around inside the couch (this is my favorite story to tell about my Mother). Oreo likes being inside the couch and doesn’t want to come out so my Mother decides to yell at Oreo like he is one of us and she commands Oreo to come out of the couch right now. Meanwhile, Danny is crying (because its his gerbil and he’s worried we won’t be able to retrieve him), Matthew is laughing at my Mother yelling at the gerbil (like he’s going to listen to my Mother’s commands) this then infuriates my Mother and she then yells at Matthew. I on the other hand am smart enough to go to my room to laugh. Somehow the gerbil finally got free and returned to the cage, I’m not sure how.

As for the blender thing I think it was something evil Matthew and I both did to Danny. When Danny would irritate us we would just look at him and say blend, blend, blend and it was our subtle way of telling him we were going to put his hamster or gerbil in the blender. Aaah, yes we were such good older siblings. As my youngest son now says, good times, good times……..;-)).
