Me in Place

Coming Monday: a Very Special Episode of Blossom Me In Place! We’ll have an entertaining interview with my Emmy Award Winning Brother-in-Law, David. Wait, let me explain, it’s not like I am saying that as a bro-in-law he deserves an Emmy… I think maybe he could have had a little more input in my Christmas gifts the last few years to really be deserving of an Emmy for bro-in-law behavior. But as a bro-in-law, he’s alright. Interestingly enough, I knew David before we knew our future spouses and thought that we would have to be related.

See, once, long ago in a nearaway town, we went to a college. I met a boy whom we shall call “Not the Right One” (NRO) and he was friends with David. My roomie and I used to hang out with NRO and David all the time. But then NRO dumped me like a hot potato in favor of “God’s Will” or “Romanian Orphans” or “Being a Big Jerk and Also Being Way Too Cool for You” – or all of the above – and I lost my confidence and created the Year That I Hate to Think About because everyone else left me too and… oh, let’s not go down that path. Anyway, after the dust settled and I met THE RIGHT ONE and David found His Right One, we ended up being brother and sister-in-law and I guess you could say I got custody. Ha, take that, NRO.

Anyway, David and I have an unspoken policy of Pretending It Never Happened and we get along fine and even though it could be Awk. Ward., he is one of my favorite people in the world. But don’t tell him, he’ll be Impossible to Deal With.

All that to say, David’s an Emmy Award Winning Brother-in-Law. You’ll meet him on Monday.
