Flashback Friday
Today is Flashback Friday day! And let’s flashback to approximately three hours ago! (Hey, I never set paremeters for how far back the flashback would be.)
Here it is. Five Things I Did Instead of Doing Laundry:
1. Did my treadmill and watched the latest episode of Top Chef. What I’m wondering is: how many seasons are there of Top Chef and why in the name of all that is simmering did you not tell me about this show?
2. I put myself in a Kraft Christmas card. Click here to see me ice skate!
3. I took this test and my personality came out as an ENTJ. They call this the “Fieldmarshall,” and suggest that I am in the same personality category as Hillary Clinton and Napoleon. This is devastating. But also suggests why I am avoiding laundry. Do you really think Napoleon ever washed dirty socks?
4. I answered approximately 365,421,250.3 questions from the three kids. No, I’m not exaggerating. Everything from: how did God really make time? to Why is this string cheese gross? to Why does SHE get to do that and I don’t?
5. Posted a comment on this blog.
6. Ordered two prints, one of which was this one: (Have you ordered yours yet? Go here. )

Since no one else has commented and you might be sad . . .
I love Top Chef too! It’s a Wednesday night ritual at our house–we come home from Awana and watch. I believe this is season five, and we’ve been faithful watchers all five seasons. Beware, though–it can make you hungry!

I took ONE of those three kids away – so that was only 243,614,l66 questions for the day.

Allison – you cheered me right up.
I’m glad to know you guys approve of Top Chef… I’ll have to get my hands on the previous seasons. I love watching what they come up with in those time constraints. It also had me inspired to do some cooking this week…tonight’s was “Balsamic Chicken with Baby Spinach and Couscous.” I’ll let you imagine what parts of that meal the 4 year old ate.
Linda – Good job.

Exercising, fun, and your kiddos are all much more important than doing laundry!

Yikes . . . the words “you guys approve” made me uneasy!
The show does have unbelievers on it, you know, so they don’t always talk nicely. Just a disclaimer there. We do like watching the talent–the creativity! In past seasons, they’ve had to make something from what they could buy at a convenience store or out of a vending machine. That’s fun to watch. I made a recipe once from a past season that I liked very much–a roasted red pepper soup. Good stuff.

Allison – sorry…in my mind I knew you guys liked to cook (your husband’s the creme brulee guy, right?) and so I just meant it from that “foodie” point of view. I won’t listen to the stuff you wouldn’t approve of.

Crisis averted! Whew! Yes, we both like to cook, and Jason is the creme’ brulee guy. Have you tried to make it yet? We don’t have a torch to caramelize the sugar–his recipe does it with powdered sugar under the broiler. It works well! We haven’t had that in about a year . . . must get to nagging . . .
He bought me a Lindt chocolate bar with creme’ brulee filling for my birthday, which we are eating one square at a time.
