TV Roundup

The shows we’re watching:
1. Top Chef. I’m just amazed that these contestants can come up with such great recipes in such a short time. The recipe I come up with under pressure is called Subway. My favorite contenders are Hosea and Ariane. What about you?

2. We’re looking forward to the return of Lost. Last season was great with the flash-forwards and the “disappearing” island. And, frankly, I miss Hurley.

3. I watch Biggest Loser on DVR. Which means I tape it and then fly throw it for just the good parts. I admire the people in what they are doing to turn their lives around and I like that it’s based on diet and exercise. And if you fly through it, you don’t have to watch any of the crying.

4. 24. I drive Mr MIP crazy by doing my version of Mystery Science Theater 3000 during this show (Do you miss MST3000 like I miss MST3000?). But last night’s episode was good…except for the overblown praise of the driver to Jack. Gag.
And right here, let me present the evidence as to why I don’t think Tony’s really, actually renegade, but just very very angry and probably a little ticked about DeRosa’s trade (note his mug):

Edited to add: Another show I like, but DVR so I can speed through is Food Network’s Ultimate Recipe Showdown. Anyone can enter and if you’re recipe is chosen, you have a showdown on air. The recipe that wins is put on the TGI Friday’s menu. We had last week’s winner’s recipe at Friday’s yesterday and it was good! (I feel like that was a complicated sentence!). It’s also cool that the show is posting all the recipes online at their site. Click here to link to the show’s site.

  1. Tues. “The Real Housewives of Orange County” (comedy/draaamaaah) Mr. J actually got me hooked on that one
    Wed. “Top Chef”!
Thurs. “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” – this week Grissom says “goodbye” :(
The Saturday Night Solution – “Forensic Files” and the “Case Files of Dayle Hinman” (FBI profiler)

I also love “Project Runway” and “What Not To Wear” but I’m not really sure when they’re on…

I used to be a fan of “24″ but now I just end up making fun of Jack…

  2. On Top Chef–I like Hosea, too, but I haven’t quite decided on favorites. I like seeing Ariane succeed, since she got off to such a rough start. I DO know that I don’t enjoy Stefan–at all.

We like CSI, too, and are really dreading Grissom leaving!

I love American Idol, and I’m glad it begins again this week.

  3. Janet – that’s pretty much what Mystery Science Theater was, these two (3?) robots and a guy making wise cracks at dumb movies. That’s what I do during 24…but very quietly, so as not to get you know who angry. (hee hee).

Allison – Yeah, American Idol is addicting in it’s own strange way! We watch CSI:Miami, but have never watched any of the other ones. I’ve heard we should, though.

  4. Do you make fun of Horatio on CSI: Miami?

I also love American Idol – I didn’t know it starts this week. I’m glad you mentioned it!

  5. I won’t even tell you how good the first hour of tonight’s episode is in case you are DVR, but man, I am all hyper (might be all the drugs I am on)

  6. You know I can’t wait for the return of Lost. I even looked into buying an airpop popcorn popper to make the night even specialer. My other favorite is Dancing with the Stars. The skinny dancers make it hard to enjoy my Moose Tracks Ice Cream, but if I switch the TV to wide screen its no problem. (the dancers look shorter and wider)

  7. J – Uh, yeah… Horatio? not a good actor at all. Lots to make fun of. I am the funniest robot on pretend MST3000. :)

Mike – oooh… it was good! And say no to drugs!

carol – hilarious. thanks for the tip on the wide screen = wide butt!
