Too.Cold.No.More.Thoughts.

Will link to people who have thoughts:

Seth Godin – just mentioned him again to someone last night. He’s a marketing guru, but his words apply to all of us. We’re all marketers in our own way, aren’t we?

Are you entering daily to win the HGTV Dream Home?

The best story I heard all week was THIS ONE. It’s about a football game where half the hometeam cheered for the visiting team. Tears will come, be ready. (HT: My awesome brother.)

Look at this fun blog. They are collecting everyone’s “I love you more than…” and posting them. Mine got on there yesterday:

No, mine isn’t the undies one. Mine is the “more than you love me.” It’s a tradition we learned from our dad to have big ILUMTULM fights – no! i love you more than you love me….NO YOU DON’T! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOU LOVE ME! I love you more than you love me INFINITY! HA HA! I won!

I’m proud to carry on the tradition with my own kids now.

We saw the Paul Blart: Mall Cop movie. So stupidly funny it was funny and a nice break from the winter cold spell.

I’m not sure why, but I have this giant celebri-crush on Steve Martin and his banjo cd is coming out at the end of the month. I’ve seen him play on tv before… and it’s absolutely amazing. You can link here – doesn’t it bring tears to your eyes? (I just mean by that that Steve Martin brings tears to my eyes. And I have no explanation for that.)

  1. I honestly don’t get the tears to the eye with Steve Martin. I know it’s good and everything, but tears? Tears cuz it’s Steve martin or tears cuz it’s good?

  2. i have no explanation. i don’t cry at hallmark movies, but I tear up in steve martin movies (except for pink panther). have you ever seen roxanne or shopgirl? totally teared up. i don’t mean full-on crying, i just mean little tears in the corner of the eyes. and when he plays banjo – i tear up. i don’t know. it’s strange. really strange. he makes me feel sad.

  3. When I see Steve Martin playing banjo, I know that he is doing something that he has really wanted to do. He has worked at the banjo for quite a while; and though he is already a very successful man, he is living out a dream of his when he is able to play alongside the pros. A dream actualized….a reason for tears perhaps?

  4. What Clare said! So true. And I’d tear up for you, too, if I got to see your dream come true. :)

  5. No tears from me, just a lot of respect.

He does bring to mind another funny guy — remember Jim Neighbors, Gomer Pyle? He was a great singer.

Although I used to laugh when Jim sang – I was younger – and his singing voice was way different from his Gomer voice. I’m telling you this Kelli cuz I’m betting you’re saying, “What is she talking about?” You Spring Chick!
