Peace and Goodwill
Maybe it was seeing George and Laura getting on the plane and feeling so relieved for them.
Maybe it was that a friend is coming to pick up our old TV.
Maybe it was that there are only so many times I can be told by Mr MIP – ‘we really have to get rid of all those baby clothes up in the attic.’
Maybe it was that I was cold and wanting spring.
It all added up to a day of getting rid of things. Out with the old. I held back any feelings of sadness as I packed away all those beautiful baby dresses. I tackled bins of clothes from the attic and several kitchen cupboards filled with kitchen gadgets and pans and yes, the Jell-O mold of the USA. (Gone.)
Four hours later, I’m down to one bin of sentimental baby clothes. And one vase. (Cuz, seriously, is there any possibility I’m going to need seven flower vases at once any time soon?)
A pile awaits in the garage for our friend. The trunk is full of Goodwill donations.
Don’t worry, Tempo. You’re for keeps.

Hope over fear, baby, hope over fear.

You did a great thing, Kelli. It’s not easy to let go of baby clothes – so many memories.
Although not as ambitious as you, I actually went through a portion of my closet yesterday and got rid of things.
Feels good.
