St Patrick’s Day on St Patrick’s Quay

The title doesn’t technically rhyme – it’s pronounced St Patrick’s “Key,” but…

The next day we did what all tourists should do: we marched in a St Patrick’s Day parade! The radio station was in the parade for the first time, and what a beautiful day it was to make their debut! The parade wound its way through the city of Cork. The volunteers from the station all wore Life FM shirts, and there was a St Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland. But someone had forgotten to pick up the St Patrick costume, so actually it looked an awful lot like a leprechaun driving dragons out of Ireland…So funny. They also had a radio playing music from the station, including Brandon Heath’s song “Give Me Your Eyes.” Interesting context to hear that song.  This was an amazing experience to march in this parade and we were thankful to have been welcomed right into it and to have had the opportunity! All three of us marched.
