Creation
After a fun night of playing with hotel sliding door closets, we visited the Creation Museum. The Museum was built by Answers in Genesis – Ken Ham’s organization. Mr MIP has done some music for them in the past, so we’ve always talked about going there to see the place, so we were glad to finally get to see it! Also, I have to add that I was discouraged by all the evolutionary materials seen at the Arboretum and at the zoo…I was thankful to visit a place where I didn’t have to defend my intelligence to my children. Even if you aren’t as conservative as them and their young earth theory, at least you’re finally in a place that brings God into the equation.
Very well-done displays. Including fun dinosaurs for SuperBoy!

I didn’t realize they have a big garden on their grounds as well. Very beautiful. And a fun suspension bridge that kept the kids occupied for a while! They also have a planetarium with a star show and a movie – the kind that sprays you in the face and your chair shakes, etc.

I highly recommend the museum and it’s an easy trip from the Chicago area. Here is their link to get more information. A couple small little things: Some of the parts of the museum were rather scary for young kids…maybe younger than 6 would be a little freaked by the noise and pictures shown in a couple parts of the museum. And I wish some of the signs on the displays weren’t so defensive. Why are we the ones on defense?? If you have the truth, speak it. And speak it loudly.
And, don’t worry, Eve has really long hair.
