I am making each of my kids take piano lessons (from me) for a couple years at least and then we’ll decide if they’ll keep going (a couple years of piano is a great intro to music and also easily translates into playing any other instrument they might be interested in). But each kid has also chosen their own instrument to learn – Mr SuperBoy has the drums, Miss 7yo has the violin and Miss 9yo….
I don’t think Mr MIP has ever been happier than when he took her to pick out her “beginner” guitar.
Well, except for the day he met me, of course.

that’s pretty cool. the part about Mr MIP taking 9yo to pick out the guitar made me smile. i have aspirations of learning the guitar. i’ve gotten as far as lesson 1 in garageband. now i just have to buy a guitar!
