Tradition! Tradition! Pt. 1

It suddenly dawned on me that we were about a week away from The Big Show (Christmas Day) and we hadn’t begun our traditions yet! So, being the lister I am, I listed them out and tackled the first one immediately.

Item 1 on the Lister’s Plan: Christmas Cookies

Just a reminder that everytime I take a personality test, I come out as Napoleon – I so far have managed not to be exiled to Elba – so making Christmas cookies with three kids? Not as easy as it sounds for us War Generals. But I literally prayed for patience before we started. Gave each kid a set amount of cookies, covered the table in parchment paper and let them at it.

Now, being me, I forgot to check to see what colors of food coloring we had – so we ended up with brown, green, purple and white. (Aren’t the General’s Advisors supposed to take care of little stuff like that?) It actually made them quite modern looking. I especially loved all the dark purple reindeer.

SuperBoy took his time and  – when not eating the frosting off his hands – did a very good job. You would have been proud.

I made a separate dozen for Mr MIP and me – so we don’t have to eat kid germs.

See, we Napoleons, always thinking.

  1. They look great! Much better than our failed attempt at a gingerbread house :)

  2. Kelli,

Just caught up on all your posts. Hilarious.

I’m thinking you should be my personal counselor once we have kid number two… you can teach me how to enjoy the craziness… and remind me to let my artist be an artist when he’s embracing his first… er, SECOND love, instead of helping me with the dishes or the kids. :)

    Merry Christmas!

  3. Always thinking but forgot the food coloring? I’m BACK!!!

  4. Mike! Welcome back! :)

I know…I know…I’m a Napoleon who thinks everyone else should take of the little details. ha!!
